Frequently Asked Questions

What is financial coaching?

Coaching involves guidance with budgets, paying off debt, setting money goals, working with your spouse to align financially, general money education, etc.

Financial coaching is a unique service in which a coach sits down with a client via a 45 minute to 1.5 hour session (typically via video or phone call), gets to know the person, dives deep into their current situation, and provides encouragement, feedback, suggestions, and attainable action steps to follow. This relationship, that is built on trust, assists clients achieve what truly matters most to them.

Much the same way that a personal trainer is not able to grow the muscularity of his clients out of his own will, we cannot do the work for you either. We are the personal trainers of the finance world. Having someone else next to you in the trenches increases your likelihood of success dramatically, plus we like to think we can help you improve what you are doing-at least we think so (wink wink). Coaching is a proven process for financial restoration and reset. We walk hand in hand to ensure you are not left to go the journey alone.

How are you different than a financial advisor?

A financial advisor is in charge of the behavior of your money. Financial coaching is the art of helping those with their personal behavior surrounding money.

Financial advisors sell products and earn off of your investments. Coaches are not licensed to provide legal, accounting, or investment advice, and earn money based on their time and the research that is involved with preparing for each session.

Coaches offer assistance with paying off debt, budgeting, setting goals with your money, general money education, etc., which are all incredibly valuable for a prosperous financial picture. Financial advisors often do not have time to assist with these.

Coaches and financial advisors are not competitors. In fact, we work hand in hand, to provide you with a well-rounded and flourishing result. We like to get our clients to the point where they can start investing or have extra money to invest.

How long does the average person receive coaching?

Most clients receive coaching over the course of a few months to a year. Though this is not a requirement, we find that it takes time for change to happen on a truly meaningful level, and that one session generally is not enough to get to the root of an issue. We do honor our clients' time, so they are free to choose the length that suites themselves or their families best.

Your trusted partner in financial growth and success, committed to securing your financial future and changing your family tree.
